Clive and his photos, treatment continues - Anna

I spoke to Clive this morning, as I do most mornings. He has just taken a photo! That is something to celebrate. It is with his new smartphone, sharp contrast with the “luckybag” cheapy he has been using for a while, and courtesy of a benefactor, to whom many thanks are due. Clive’s photo is not one which most of us would relish. It is of a very nasty fungal infection, exhibited by one of the patients. In the past we have seen fungal infections clear very quickly. A few days ago I mentioned a patient called Otis who had an infection in his fingers and toes. Well, apparently that has virtually gone. No tea tree oil was used – Otis didn’t get around to it – but it has cleared. Thanks, maybe, to a stronger immune system.

We have to celebrate Clive’s photo because it represents man’s conquest of irrational fear. Helped by a patient with the same phone. So now, dear readers, you may be graced with pictures of rotting toes, glandular swellings, kaposi’s sarcomas. And hopefully, some of them looking better. Generally, they look better quite fast, and may continue to improve for weeks or months.

We have another patient who is very ill. This time, it looks as if she is the early stages of kidney failure, and Clive has warned her family that she may not make it.

There has been a lot of prayer, and once again, her family report her as being better this morning than yesterday. I am looking forward to this treatment being well-known, so that people can try it early on, maybe before they are at the stage at which anti-retroviral drugs are prescribed.

This month, we may break even, donations equally expense. Another celebration. I am looking forward to the day when Clive can be paid, and a fund built up for more machines.”
